I don’t know about you but there is a significant amount of snuggling that occurs on my living room couches.
And with a large dog heavily involved in the snuggling that only means my blankets and throw pillows must undergo frequent washings, which can eventually take a toll on their appearance.
Believe me, I am not complaining about the frequent washings. There’s nothing like wrapping yourself up in a freshly washed blanket and laying your head on a clean pillow.
But like I said, eventually the appearance suffers. So, what do you do? Buy new ones all the time? No way.
I love finding quick and inexpensive ways to give my home a makeover.
Something as simple as changing the throw pillows in your living room can give the room a whole new feeling. Plus, decor change is always satisfying! And that’s what throw pillows are — a part of your home’s decor.
Very comfy, cozy decor.
Like the majority of my home, my living room has a grey and white color scheme to it.
The actual throw pillows are still in great shape (still fluffy and comfy) but the outsidesΓΒ are looking a bit rough.
The white hues are not looking bright anymore and there is sever fabric pilling, thus it is time to make them over.
One super easy way — throw pillow covers!
The first place I looked (my favorite go-to!): Amazon.
My throw pillows are 18×18 — a pretty standard throw pillow size, which means there are LOTS of cover options available.
After some debate, I decide to go with these here.
This set comes with four different covers: two light grey, and two dark grey; however, unlike my original four, all four of these new ones have a different pattern to them.
My original four had two light grey covers that share the same pattern and two dark grey covers that share the same pattern.
Depending on where you buy your pillow covers and what condition and packaging they arrive in, I suggest ironing them before putting them on your pillows.
Putting your pillows into the new covers can take a bit of effort, but you don’t want the covers too lose, so it makes sense that it’s initially a bit of a tight squeeze.
Work the pillows down into the corners and give them a shake at the end to ensure a perfect fit.
This is such an easy and inexpensive way to give your living room couches a quick makeover!
