This past Sunday was the official start of the Spring season, hooray! The weather here has finally broken and we have been spending most of our time out enjoying every warm day that comes our way. Shorts and sandals have happily reentered our rotating wardrobe, along with light jackets and sweaters to throw on at night. My absolute favorite kind of weather.
For today, let’s celebrate the beautiful change of weather by taking a look at some fun fashion inspirations. Below I have put together a few outfit flatlay’s for spring so you can snag ideas for your own closet.
I absolutely love the styling of fashion when it comes to flatly photography. The precision and perfect pairings of items that it takes to get the photo are so impressive. Although it does take some work and a little rearranging to get it just right, a flatlay photo is perhaps the easiest way to show off your style. Plus you don’t have to worry about modeling the clothes yourself (especially if you arent feeling up to being in front of the camera).
To get the perfect flaylay photo for yourself, the first thing you should do is familiarize yourself with lots and lots of flatlays. Notice how pants are folded, sweater arms are arranged and layered, how shoes are laid out, and what kind of accessories are added — just to name a few examples.
For early spring wear, you’ll see strappy tanks with cardigans, lightweight sweaters with bralettes, tanks with long pants, and of course trendy sandals. Keep a color palette in mind so that all the items flow nicely together, after all this should represent an outfit you would actually wear.
When in doubt, it’s always best to go simple. A solid background (ideally white or a light color) and good lighting is ideal.
If you need a little extra reach, use a step stool or a small ladder to get the perfect shot from above.
Here’s to major inspiration and fun fashion choices — happy spring!
Thanks for stopping by! If I have mistagged a photo and it belongs to you please email me with a link to your photo so I can give proper credit.
