Happy Monday! You all may be starting off your week with perfectly washed and styled hair, but you and I both know that will only last for so long… like, until tomorrow. Hello, lazy Tuesday hair (aka let the lazy girl hairstyles begin!) Is it just me or does Tuesday always seem like the sleepiest day? It typically was the day at work that dragged by the most for me. Now, all my days seem to go by in a flash with my little waking tornado wild man (please slow down, time!). But I still find myself getting lazier and lazier with my hair after my thorough Sunday wash and style.
Therefore, today I want to share with you some of my all-time favorite five-minute lazy girl hairstyles. On the days I don’t want to wash my hair I find myself doing one (or even a combination of two) of these easy hairstyles. The word “easy” is thrown around far too loosely these days, but with these hairstyles, easy truly fits.
Most of the tutorials suggest adding dry shampoo, which I highly recommend as well. But if you want a little extra volume, especially if you have thin hair like myself, I suggest using a texturing spray in addition to the dry shampoo. It helps make your hair fuller and thicker, giving you a more voluminous hairstyle. My dirty hair always lacks volume, so this is a necessity for me!
Take a look at the following five-minute lazy girl hairstyles and have yourself an effortlessly stylish morning routine! Enjoy!
All-Up Top Knot
First up on the list is my easy go-to hairdo of all the time: the messy top knot! My favorite piece of advice for this lazy girl hairstyle, pull out a few pieces in the front and sides and lightly curl them (as seen in the photo). This helps add interest to your hairstyle and makes it look like you spent wayyy more than five minutes to pull it together. Don’t let its beauty fool you, this hairstyle is quick, especially once you’ve mastered it. This tutorial can be found on Lauren Conrad.
Half-Up Top Knot
Super trendy and super cute — the half up top knot! This hairstyle works on all lengths of hair, making this an easy go-to style for everyone. As with the top knot above, I suggest creating tousled hair with the use of your favorite hair wand to add extra sass and style. Within minutes you have a seriously on-trend do! This easy tutorial can be found on Be Modish.
Half Up With a Braid
When in doubt, add a braid — or two! Braids always add interest to any hairstyle and give the impression that you spent more time than you really did on your hair. This GORGEOUS half-up braided hairstyle tutorial can be found on Hazel Darling. Do you have 5 minutes to spare in the morning? That’s all it will take to recreate this look! Mix it up: follow this tutorial but pull your hair into a ponytail in the end.
Heatless Overnight Waves
Wake up with gorgeous hair? Yes, please! Can it really be that easy? Good news, it can! I’ve done this type of easy overnight hair hack over the past few years and it’s a huge sigh of relief in the morning to wake up to tousled locks. Did you just come from the beach? Nah, my bed! This video tutorial can be found from Shonagh Scott.
Twisted Everyday Ponytail
This ridiculously beautiful “everyday ponytail” may not look like a typical lazy girl hairstyle but don’t let its beauty fool you. It truly is an achievable hairstyle with minimum effort. Missy Sue documents step by step how you can recreate this exact look in just minutes. Mix it up: don’t have any more than five minutes to do your hair? Skip the curling wand and opt for a straight ponytail, or lose the ponytail altogether. Your hair, your call!
Add Accessories
That’s it for tutorials because let’s be honest: no need for a tutorial here! Adding accessories can create an ultra-chic style to your hair, even when you’re wearing a simple ponytail. Opt for a pretty hair scarf or headband. Check out more gorgeous hair scarf styles for major inspiration!
Add A Hat
And finally, when in doubt add a hat! The ultimate lazy girl hairstyle! And one that I simply love to do!
