Raise your hand if you love the show Friends!
Two years ago my hand wouldn’t have been raised. Not because I didn’t like the show, but because I had never ever watched it. Despite the fact that I saw it was on TV countless times in my life and knew so many people LOVED it. Still, it took me 22 years from its air date to finally sit down and watch it.
Since the day I first watched the pilot episode, I haven’t stopped watching it.
Isn’t it great when you can find a TV show, or movie, or book that brings you so much joy that you relive it over and over again? Once I watched the show in its entirety, I thought “too bad I didn’t watch this sooner.” Immediately, I disagreed with myself. I was 27 years old and could relate to the show’s 20-something-year-old characters so well. If I had watched at any other time in my life I would have simply thought it was a good show — but now, watching in my twenties, I found such a connection to the characters who were paving their way through life in their twenties.
I think we can all find ourselves in these characters at one time or another. From their jobs (or lack thereof), love and heartbreak, family life, important milestones (like having a baby!), and of course the undeniable bond you can have with the closest of friends.

Five Month Letterboard
I think it’s safe to say: I love the show Friends. But after having John I developed an even greater love for it. Having a baby in the dead of winter means you hibernate indoors, which can get really stuffy and really lonely. Friends was always playing on TV during the day while trapped inside with a delicate newborn. With its unwavering humor, the show helped alleviate the feelings of loneliness that can oftentimes come far too easily as a mom. And during sleepless nights, Friends continued to play.
Since having John I can say Friends has been there for me. It’s been there to help me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry. It’s been there to keep me alert and sane in the middle of the night when all I wanted to do was sleep with a sleepless baby. I guess “I’ll be there for you” is so true.
This is why for our five-month letterboard idea is dedicated to Friends! For those of you familiar with the show, it should make perfect sense. If you have no idea how the letterboard or onesie relate to the show, start watching now! You will seriously not regret this decision.
