We undeniably love the boho style for all rooms in the house. In one of our most loved and shared posts titled How To Create a Boho Bedroom: 10 Style Tips, we touch on the topic of adding a subtle amount of black to a boho bedroom:
Boho home style is all about embodying a bright and airy aesthetic, so you don’t want to make the room too heavy and dark with too much black. For a subtle hint of black try a metal bed frame. Pair it with a bright white duvet to balance out the heavy black. But if you love to incorporate black into your home decor try adding a black accent wall for one major pop of black. Or have one piece of furniture painted black so the room still feels as light and open as possible while still getting a good dose of black.
The beauty of the boho style is that you really can’t go wrong with styling. It’s all about creating a space that feels good to you. To help steer you in the right direction, we’ve listed a few styling tips for incorporating subtle hints of black to help create the boho bedroom of your dreams. Of course, the end result is all up to you!

How To Add Black Accents
One really easy way to add a subtle touch of black is with a bedframe. Bed frames are an easy way to incorporate black without overpowering the entire room. We absolutely love the look of a metal bed frame paired with light bedding.
Area rugs are another great way to make a bold color statement in your bedroom without the room feeling too weighed down. Try adding a light-colored bedframe, nightstand, or dresser atop the black rug to continue to balance out the dark with light.
And of course, a black pillow or throw blanket on the bed can easily add more of the dark color pops you want without making the room feel too dark. Plus, you can never have enough pillows when it comes to creating a boho statement look.
For splashes of black along the walls look for framed art pieces, posters, baskets, macrame hangings, wall tapestry, and wood carvings in dark shades. Varying pieces of art and decor add visual interest that help tie together your boho aesthetic.
Black and White Boho Bedroom Ideas
Creating a boho bedroom with black is all about finding a balance of light and dark to ensure your bedroom still has a bright and airy vibe to it. Add wooden furniture and decor, bright white linens and textiles, and green plants (you can never have enough plants). In the examples below you will see the black bedframes, rugs, pillows, and bed throws, plus more subtle uses of black. However, we’ve also shared a few with dramatic black accent walls. But as you will see, even with the accent walls the boho bedrooms are still just as bright with their light accessories and furniture.
