Happy Friday! Last week while scrolling TikTok I came across a video talking about a charming, woodland house; one that was perfectly described as a storybook home. This tucked away in the trees house with a beautiful stone chimney was an A-frame that exuded character. Stain glass light fixtures, wood paneling, diamond pattern windows, built-ins, stone fireplaces, just to name a few original elements that made up its unique 70’s aesthetic.
Although it had a lot of great characteristics, the inside was quite outdated and a few commentators noted that it felt a bit too dark. Nevertheless, the home could have really benefitted from just a few gentle updates that would still allow the home’s original charm to shine through.
The house ended up getting more than just a few updates.
The video concludes with the A-frame experiencing a “tragedy” as it underwent what is best described as a farmhouse flip. Many said this completely tarnished the home’s original personality. As you can imagine, the video had some debate over the remodel. Some thought it was beautiful, most thought it was a crime.
In spite of it all, the one positive thing I got out of it for myself was a new love for A-frame homes. I was scrolling Pinterest for days looking at them and saving a few for some future posts as well. For today’s Friday Favorites post I have pulled together a list of 25 beautiful A-frame houses tucked cozily in the trees. I hope (if you don’t love them already) that this list will grab ahold of your heartstrings and make you fall in love with their timeless charm.
