This week I kickstarted my newest blog series I am calling Books To Movies I love. If you caught my first post on Tuck Everlasting you read why I love the film adaptation genre (is it a real genre? If not, it should be).
Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies. Finding the movie or even sometimes a TV show (ahem, Outlander) based on the book was always a bonus to the story. I love comparing my imagination to the movie. Did we see characters and scenery the same way? Or did we interrupt everything completely differently? That’s the beauty of reading — you get to create the story in your mind, the way your imagination chooses to see it.

2. Let’s Read & Watch 2022
Here are a few of the upcoming book-to-film adaptations for 2022 that we are excited about (some may be out already, enjoy!)
- Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
- Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates
- Persuasion by Jane Austen
- All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
- The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
3. Let’s Read Together
Books already play an important role in my kid’s life. A book or two is an absolute necessity in our bedtime routine. No matter how sleepy my toddler is he MUST have one book read to him, even if he barely has his eyes open. Here are a few of our favorites from over the past three years of bedtime routines:
- If Animals Kissed Good Night
- Never Touch a Dinosaur! (so many good ones in this collection)
- Babies Can Sleep Anywhere
- Where’s Spot? (We have so many from this collection)
- I Dig Bathtime
- Little Blue Truck (again, so many from this collection)
4. Let’s Not Forget
You can’t go wrong with a good bookmark. Don’t bend back the pages, don’t bend back the pages, don’t bend back the pages! Ear bent pages… I can’t stand them. But hey, if it’s your book — do your thing. If I am not using a picture of one of my kids or dog as a bookmark, my go-to are these Bob Ross page clips.
5. Let’s Get Social (TikTok)
It’s no surprise — I am sharing with you a few TikTok videos that I loved recently. In continuing with today’s book aesthetic theme, that is exactly what you will find in the below-linked videos.
- This bookshelf makeover by @astoldbymichelle is an absolute dream for any reader.
