For a DIY Breakfast At Tiffany’s bridal shower, I created a photo frame prop for fun photo opportunities. Creating a photo frame prop for a party is super easy, inexpensive, takes little time, and encourages lots of photos! To easily create your own prop you will need poster board, paint, and a paint pen. For your own Breakfast At Tiffany’s party, have oversized sunglasses and costume pearl necklaces for the photos! Be just like Audrey, darling!
Step 1: Measure and cut poster board
Take one piece of thick poster board and decide how large of an opening you want by marking lines with a pencil. Compare the poster board with a real Polaroid picture (see below) to get a better idea on how much poster board to remove. Once you are satisfied with the lines, carefully use a razor blade to cut and create an opening in the middle of the poster board. Take a piece of sandpaper to smooth out the inside of the frame (see below).
Step 2: Paint and write
Paint the frame the color of your choice. For a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed party, use this Tiffany Blue paint. Write out something specific to the occasion, such as “Bride to Be” in pencil, followed by a paint pen. For the poster board, this black paint pen works beautifully. Using a sponge brush to paint the poster board works best.
Step 3: Decorate
Similar to the Mimosa Bar sign tutorial, adding paper flowers can make the photo frame prop more special and unique. Learn how to easily create paper flowers too! Have fun creating and decorating however you want!
