Two months ago I shared a post on the best plants for a baby nursery (plus tons of Pinterest-worthy inspiration). In that post, I shared how I spent copious amounts of time in my baby’s nursery due to teething. Well, two months later and here we are again — back with two more teeth poking through and so much time soothing in his rocker during the night.
Since that post, I have gotten him and my toddler plants for their rooms (plants from the list I shared) so now my mind wonders elsewhere while I rock my teething baby back to sleep countless times. My mind wanders to the wall on which his crib and dresser reside. It’s a simple pale blue shade of paint that creates a sweet and serene atmosphere paired with his all-white furniture. However, a board and batten statement wall in that pale blue shade would be absolutely stunning. Or so my sleepless mind tells me so.
What is board and batten?
I had always seen board and batten statement walls in countless other blogs and social platforms but I had truthfully never known the actual name — I’d refer to them as simply “statement walls”. That is up until a few years ago when my best friend and her husband created one and I learned the proper name.
In the simplest of terms, board and batten is interior paneling with alternating wide boards and narrow wooden strips (referred to as batten). A simple definition for such an intricate and sophisticated-looking project.
Today we are sharing 25 of our favorite board and batten nursery wall ideas to help you get major inspiration to create the statement wall of your dreams.
